ELECTRICIAN ANSWERING SERVICE · EARLY ACCESS

Electrician answering service with safety stops.

Most electrical calls are projects: panels, EV chargers, remodels. A few are hazards that should never become a chat. WarmAnswer is preparing an AI answering service for electricians that captures the projects and stops safely on the hazards.

Two kinds of electrical calls, handled differently

An electrical contractor’s phone carries two very different conversations. The first is a project inquiry: a 200-amp panel upgrade, a Level 2 charger in the garage, recessed lighting, a generator hookup. Those callers want to know you received the request and will follow up. Losing them to voicemail usually means losing them to the next result in search.

The second is a hazard: sparking, a burning smell, a buzzing panel, partial power, water near wiring. Here the right answer is short and scripted, and anything resembling troubleshooting is wrong. An electrician answering service has to know which conversation it is in within the first sentence or two.

Electrical calls the early-access workflow is built around

“An outlet sparked and I smell burning.”Nothing beyond what the agreed safety script allowsImmediate-danger message and notification agreed with you before launch
“Half the house lost power.”Whether neighbors are affected, any visible damage, whether the utility has been contactedUrgent request or utility referral, by your rules
“I bought an EV and need a charger installed.”Vehicle or charger model if known, garage or driveway, home age, panel size if the caller knows itInstall lead for your estimator

“We are remodeling the kitchen.”Scope, general contractor involved or not, timeline, permit status if knownProject inquiry, no transfer

Rules we agree with you before activation

  • Hazard stops. The exact wording for sparks, smoke, burning smells, downed lines and water near electrical equipment, and who is notified.
  • Utility versus contractor. When a power outage is referred to the utility rather than dispatched to you.
  • Project fit. Residential, commercial or both; jobs you do not take, such as low-voltage or solar.
  • Service area. ZIP codes and any minimum job size you want callers told about.
  • Transfers. Which calls ring the on-call electrician and the fallback if nobody answers.

Where your team stays in charge

The receptionist does not diagnose faults, explain how to reset breakers, interpret code or quote prices. It does not confirm appointments without a calendar connection. Electrical work is licensed for good reason; the receptionist’s job ends at a clean, accurate intake and the right handoff.

ELECTRICAL FAQ

Before electrical goes live.

Can WarmAnswer answer electrical calls today?

You can try our electrical conversation demo today. It does not save or send a service request, dispatch an electrician or book a visit. Real electrical call handling is in early access; your intake and hazard wording must be agreed and tested before a real number is connected.

What does the receptionist do with sparks, smoke or a downed line?

It stops the intake and gives the immediate-danger message agreed with you before launch, such as contacting emergency services or the utility. It does not suggest flipping breakers, touching equipment or waiting to see.

Will it answer code or permit questions?

No. It can record whether the caller mentions a permit, an inspection deadline or a failed inspection, so your team knows the context. Code interpretation stays with a licensed electrician.

Can it qualify EV-charger and panel-upgrade leads?

Yes, within the questions you approve: vehicle and charger type if known, parking location, home age and current panel size if the caller knows it. Pricing and load calculations stay with your estimator.
